The material for many quilts was donated and we used old jeans to cut for some of the squares. The cost was very little but they were greatly appreciated by nursing home residents. However, we did not begin early enough to finish all of them before Christmas. So I encourage you to begin early with service projects.

Anytime of year would be a great time to donate to the Department of Human Services. These items cost less than $25.00 and were taken to their Rainbow Room which donates items to a counseling center, children in transition, and a domestic violence shelter:

DeleteMy sister-in-law was a receiver of a ARK jar this year!!! I had never heard of it until she enthusiastically told us about it on Christmas Eve. We plan to make and distribute our own during the next holiday season-- Thank you for the resources to do so!
