ARK: Acts of Random Kindness for Adults & Children is my personal favorite post because I hope it inspires children and adults to do random acts of kindness throughout the year. Free Printables are available with many ideas that can be put in a jar or decorated box. Small acts of kindness can accumulate to make others feel kindness, gratitude and a desire to return the act. I promise you it will enlarge your compassion as you teach young children kindness, empathy and generosity. You will feel better about yourself and about our world.

My grandson is already saving his money for ARKs.

The material for many quilts was donated and we used old jeans to cut for some of the squares. The cost was very little but they were greatly appreciated by nursing home residents. However, we did not begin early enough to finish all of them before Christmas. So I encourage you to begin early with service projects.

Anytime of year would be a great time to donate to the Department of Human Services. These items cost less than $25.00 and were taken to their Rainbow Room which donates items to a counseling center, children in transition, and a domestic violence shelter:
