I'm so excited about this linky party and also the Expo Jan. 28th. You can click on the above links for more information. I can't seem to copy the icon, excuuuusee me - button, with it linking to the site but my husband says I've come a long way on blogging. I know I'm good at stalking hopping joining linky parties. And I've tweeted and FB about this Expo because I'm trying to spread the love around the blogs, like a good girl instead of just putting my link on and hopping around. Anyone else notice that Linky parties seem to be related to ying/yang karma?

I am supposed to answer these 11 questions about 2011:

11. Favorite movie you watched:

I read The Help and have seen the movie. Both are outstanding!

10. Favorite TV series: The Closer

9. Favorite restaurant: TxMex

8. Favorite new thing you tried: Blogging

7. Favorite gift you got:  New purse after "spending" seven years with old one.

6. Favorite thing you pinned: Don't know how yet, but highly interested.

5. Followers favorite post (this is all about me, right?): Why Craft? Why Art?

3. Favorite picture from Pattern Naturally

2. Favorite memory: Having fun on my best friend's houseboat.

1. Goal for 2012: To finish book for mothers of young children that I am co-authoring with Mommy with Selective Memory.

I grew up in a small town in Kansas with two sisters and two brothers and we have remained close. I have "retired" from teaching but my daughter and I work play in the church nursery and love it (18 months to 3+ years).

We live in the country in Texas and have 3 outdoor cats, a crazy dog, 5 guineas, 8 hens and a beautiful "exotic" rooster. A variety of birds visit our yard because we throw out bird seed.

We also have many hummingbirds visit us. My favorite time of day is sunrise. I'm usually the only early riser - it's heavenly sitting on my back porch.
I stay busy with church, blogging, writing, yard work, and family. We are trying to restore a pond on our land. This was just cow pasture when we built our home. Some of our grandchildren live next door.

"Where's Mom?"

We had pygmy goats for a while but they kept getting out of the fence, were noisy, and reproduced often.

My daughter's job is walking and grooming a 32-year-old gentle horse who lives across the road. I think I have a wonderful life.

2012 Goal: Read scriptures daily.
My Challenge to You: Read at least one book a month for yourself - does not include Big Bird Goes to the Park.

  2. Very exciting congrats! I'm just starting the 2nd lisbeth book and man isshe tough or what??

  3. Lisbeth is one tough cookie, all right. So glad you are reading the books. I was disappointed in the movies and think the author would be too. (He's deceased or I think the movies would be different). Good for you reading books. Parents - remember our challenge: Read a book a month for yourself! "Big Bird Goes to the Park" does not count.

  4. Miss T - honestly substituting was much more difficult than being hired permanently except you didn't have to return to a classroom that was totally horrible. But it lead me find a great school and principal where I settled. You'll get there!

  14. I love Texas even though we suffered through triple digits and no rain all summer. The grass was brown for months. But we do have a beautiful view of cows and horses. It took many moves to get here but I'm staying. Some of you have noticed I wrote a book. I kept a journal of funny things that happened to me while I taught then wrote chapters about things I thought would help teachers, parents and children. The book is only $2.99 on Kindle and free for 2 more months for Amazon Prime Members.

  34. I am so glad you found my blog!

I had to share some thoughts with you. Forgive me for being scatterbrained.

Zip-lining is a blast. They strap you into a harness and then clip that harness to a wire that is strung across a long distance. You hop off one platform and end up flying down the wire to the second platform. I flew over tropical trees, a river, a waterfall, and more. I highly recommend it. The first step is scary, but as long as you listen to your guides you will be fine.

I also love the Closer and am sad I do not have cable. I only get to see it when I visit family with DVR.

Pinning is a blast and highly addictive. Let me know if you need an invite or even some pointers. I find a ton of great ideas and it keeps all my bookmarked ideas organized in a nice visual way.

Also a secret wish of mine is to one day own a chicken coop. I even picked out the one I want my husband to build. ;)
